Akrapovic has incorporated several new features and performance enhancements into the all NEW Hexagonal (Hex) Canisters. The redesign ensures maximum increase in power and torque while maintaining the appropriate noise reduction levels required for competition. The Hex Canisters are fitted with a Hydro-Formed Carbon Fiber Cone End Cap, within which, is a Hydro-Formed inner baffle that reduces exhaust flow turbulence. A stainless steel wool/mesh layered baffle liner further ensures high performance durability.
As with all Akrapovic full systems, joints between individual components are made from CNC machined sleeves. The header inner sleeves, flanges, and header tubes are independent, meaning that the header tubes are “free-floating”, and are attached to the engine head using springs. They are not bolted in. Only the flanges are screwed in, which hold the inner header sleeves. This reduces stress on the connections due to engine vibration and allows for faster removal and installation of the header tubes in racing situations.
